She had an illegitimate child 'Madge Evelyn Russ' (known as Eve) and, according to Jacqui (Ivy's granddaughter) Ivy would have had a hard life at that time. She later married Edward James Davey, Jacqui's grandfather.

Jacqui remembers 'Ivy' (her grandmother) chopping wood and taking in washing as well as looking after her (Ivy's) family of six children. Ivy also looked after Jacqui (the granddaughter) whilst Jacqui's mother was at work so Jacqui and her grandmother (Ivy) were quite close.

Ivy lived for a time in Spalding, Lincs in a mobile home before moving to Devon. Parents: Walter James RUSS and Elizabeth WARD.
