CULTIVATE DOMESTIC PEACE.
– To those scenes of domestic peace, which pure religion created
and adorned, the thoughts of the youngest member of the family will cling
in after years; they will become a kind of hallowed ground in his memory;
they will exert a restraining and sanctifying power; and thus we may expect
to see the promise fulfilled: - “Train up a child in the way we

Nails and pegs are little things, but they hold the large parts of large buildings together; a word, a look, a frown – all are little things, but powerful for good and evil. Think of this, and mind the little things. Pay that little debt - `tis promised – redeem it; if it is a shilling, hand it over – you know not what important event hangs upon it. Keep your word sacredly; keep it to the children, they will mark it sooner than any one else, and the effect will probably be as lasting as life. Mind the little things.
